        Each year, members of the High Performance Program of Canada Inline are selected for Canada's Women's Inline Hockey Team and compete at the World Championships.

        Canada Inline is a National organization that is dedicated to the advancement of inline hockey for all levels. The High Performance Inline Hockey Program consists of a network of coaches, players and volunteers who are a driving force that ensure the program will ultimately reach all of its goals and aspirations.

        The formation of Team Canada is part of the High Performance Program of Excellence for inline hockey. 

       To play for the 2008 Canadian Inline Hockey Team is an honour that these committed females will cherish for the rest of their lives.   Team members are chosen from across the country and have ranged in age from 16 to 34 years and have spoken English or French.  They have juggled school, careers such as teaching and practising law, families and household chores and other obligations to fulfill their dream of representing their country, playing a sport that is "young" and that they love. By sponsoring the Canadian Women's Inline Hockey Team, you would not only help enable these elite women to remain focused on their goals, but our grassroots program would see this, and young female athletes would strive to attain the same potential. Therefore, you are not only sponsoring a team, in reality you are in the business of fulfilling many dreams.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

     The purpose of the Sponsorship Program for the Canadian Women's Inline Hockey Team  is to assist team members by reducing the costs associated with competing in the 2008 World Inline Hockey Championships being held  July 5^th -12^th in Dusseldorf, Germany.

     To be selected to compete for Canada is an honour that these young women will cherish for the rest of their lives.  Team members will be experiencing some of the most memorable times of their lives and Canada Inline would like to invite you to be a part of "our team".  It is only through financial assistance from people and companies such as yours, will these athletes fulfill their dreams and experience this tremendous opportunity.

HISTORY OF THE CANADIAN WOMENS INLINE HOCKEY TEAM :

 In 2002 the first World Championships for Women were held in Rochester, New York with 6 countries competing. In an exciting championship game, Canada was able to capture the Gold.  Unfortunately, in 2003, individual team members were required to cover their costs to defend their title in Pisek, Czech Republic. With talented members unable to go due to finances, Canada sent only those who could afford to go. With 10 countries competing, Canada lost in the Finals, ending up with the Silver medal.  In 2004, the World Championships were  in London, Ontario.  This was great, as not only were there now 12 countries competing, but the financial burden on our players was much less being held here in Canada.  Fortunately, Team Canada was able to win back the Gold and become World Champions once again.  In 2005, 10 participated in the World Championships that were held in Viry-Chatillon, France.  Fortunately, a few sponsors came together and Team Canada not only attended the Championships in Paris, but did not disappoint as they once again came out on top with the Gold.  The 2006 World Championships were held on American soil in Taylor, Michigan.  As in previous years, it was a USA vs Canada Final. After an intense, fast action game, the USA squeezed out a victory with a 2-1 win. In 2007, the World Inlline Hockey Championships were held in Bilboa, Spain. Due to financial difficulties, Canada was not able to attend.  Therefore, not only does Canada hope to attend the 2008 World Inline Hockey Championships that are being held in Germany, but it is imperative that we send our country's best players in order to bring back the Gold to Canadian soil.
