The league welcomes Gino Del Monte as it's new League Director. Gino is very excited and passionate about making roller/inline hockey in Mississauga a great place to bring yourself and your children to fulfil exercise and a social environment where you will enjoy your freetime.
Gino has been an active member in roller hockey for the past 12 years in this city and many others. Gino is the Director and General Manager for the Canadian Womens Inline Team.
Gino started his inline career in Mississauga in 1994 where one of the original founders (George Aruajo) of the league recruited him to coach our very first Junior Division Rattlers. That team lost the league final in OT but went on win the National Championship. In that same year, Gino was also recruited to help start a womens program in Toronto. This lead to his involvement with the Canadian Womens Inline Team. With his great leadership skills, he has been the key component to the Team winning 3 out of the last 5 World Championships. As a 3 time World Champion, Gino has also been very successful at NARCH and AAU Tournaments. His success stems from the attitude of PLAYING hard and having FUN. Gino calls inline hockey "POND HOCKEY WITHOUT THE POND".
For the past 12 years, Gino has coached both boys and girls at every level of inline. He has fostered many players to maximize their skills and to reach their full potential. His passion has developed many inline players to go on and become great ice players, some of which who now play either in the NHL or NWHL. Gino has a strong belief that roller/inline hockey is the best cross trainer for ice.
Gino is a strong believer in that "IF YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN START PLAYING......YOU WILL FIND IT HARD STOPPIINNGGG!!!"
GINO HAS PROMISED TO GIVE HIS TIME AND ENERGY TO DEVELOP AND CREATE A LEAGUE WHERE EVERYONE WHO COMES TO THE GAMES WILL ENJOY THEMSELVES!!!!
